Message from the HOD

Welcome to the Department of Agriculture and Environmental Studies at Nyamira National Polytechnic. As the Head of Department, I am proud to lead a team dedicated to equipping students with practical skills and theoretical knowledge to excel in the dynamic fields of agriculture and environmental management.

Our department stands out for its hands-on approach to learning. We operate four production units – dairy, poultry, fisheries, and greenhouse crops – where students gain real-world experience alongside classroom instruction. This practical exposure prepares our graduates to immediately contribute to Kenya’s agricultural sector upon completion of their studies.

We are continuously evolving our curriculum to address emerging challenges in food security, climate change, and sustainable resource management. Our new programs in climate-smart agriculture and environmental impact assessment reflect this commitment to relevance.

I invite you to explore our programs and discover how we can help you achieve your career aspirations in agriculture and environmental studies. Our doors are always open for consultation and guidance.
