Message from HOD

Welcome to the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Nyamira National Polytechnic. Our mission is to provide high-quality education and hands-on training that equips trainees with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the electrical and electronics industry. We integrate classroom theory with practical experience through industrial attachments, field visits, and workshops, ensuring our graduates are job-ready. Our dedicated team of qualified trainers offers not only technical guidance but also mentorship and support to foster holistic development.

In line with Kenya’s greening agenda, we are proud to offer specialized training in solar installation and maintenance, preparing trainees to contribute to sustainable energy solutions.

Modularized Courses Offered

Electrical Instalattion Level 3

Min Entry Requirement: KCPE • Duration: 3 Months • Mode: Modular

This course trains you in basic electrical installation skills. You will learn to install PVC-sheathed cable systems, trunking systems, and conduit systems – preparing you for entry-level work in electrical wiring.

DUAL Program in Renewable Energy

A specialized training program where at least 50% of learning takes place in industry and at most 50% at school, combining hands-on experience with classroom instruction to equip trainees with practical, job-ready skills in renewable energy.

FREE DIGITAL SKILLS TRAINING – 15TH TO 19TH SEPTEMBER 2025

NNP JITUME COMMITTEE WITH EMOBILIS FREE Digital Skills Training at the JITUME Lab from 15th to 19th September 2025, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily. The program will cover Digital & Online Work, Creating Your Digital Profile, Online Work Safety & Data Protection, Soft Skills, and Data Analysis, followed by 4 weeks of virtual mentorship. With only 100 slots available, interested participants are encouraged to register early via this Google Form to gain valuable skills for online income opportunities and the digital economy.

The Department of Agriculture and Environmental Studies at The Nyamira National Polytechnic invites applications for the September 2025 intake in Aquaculture, Agripreneurship, General Agriculture, Agriculture & Extension, and Environmental Studies from Level 3 to Level 6. With practical training in our production units, modern facilities, and guidance from experienced instructors, you will gain the skills needed for careers in farming, agribusiness, environmental management, and agricultural extension.
