Performance contracting is a strategic approach to improving organizational efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability by setting clear performance targets, monitoring progress, and incentivizing performance improvement. At Nyamira National Polytechnic, we are committed to enhancing our operational performance and achieving our institutional goals through performance contracting initiatives.

Performance Contracting covers: Core Mandate (training and assessment), financial stewardship, service delivery, Access to Government Procurement Opportunities (AGPO), Promotion of Local Content in Procurement, and Cross-cutting issues.

Performance Contracting entails setting and executing targets every financial year. Evaluation is done at the end of the year to determine the level of achievement in the set targets and way forward. This has greatly propelled the Polytechnic to improve its service delivery to its customers.

Objectives

Our performance contracting initiatives aim at:

  1. Enhancing Service Delivery: Improve the quality and efficiency of services provided to students, faculty, staff, and stakeholders.
  2. Achieving Institutional Goals: Align organizational activities with strategic objectives and priorities to drive overall institutional success.
  3. Fostering Accountability: Establish clear performance metrics, targets, and accountability mechanisms to ensure transparency and accountability in the management of resources and achievement of results.

  1. Performance Targets: Set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) performance targets aligned with institutional goals and priorities.
  2. Performance Indicators: Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress and outcomes in critical areas such as academic excellence, student success, research output, financial sustainability, and stakeholder satisfaction.
  3. Performance Monitoring and Evaluation: Implement robust systems for monitoring and evaluating performance against established targets and KPIs on a regular basis.
  4. Incentives and Rewards: Establish incentives and rewards to motivate individuals and departments to excel in performance and achieve or exceed established targets.
